I wish that I was already older and had the skills needed to be really good at playing the french horn. I am a music education major at my school. I always feel like I'm behind.

I have friends that tell me I'm good. I've had a couple of teachers say that I'm good. Am I good?

Not according to the band director. He (and others) tell me that I have the potential to be good. But am I yet? Apparently not.

When I was a senior in high school, I made 6th chair (out of 8) of all district band in the South Central District in North Carolina. That's not too bad, right?

My high school didn't have private lessons instructors or anything. There was a band director and some drum majors, and that was pretty much it.

Ever since I've gotten to college, I've been playing catch up. I'm tired of being behind.
